Deskrawl Bosses: All 20, Their Zone, Their Map and Their Unlock Rates

Deskrawl has exactly 20 bosses: one miniboss and one full boss per area, across eleven area names running from Kings Woods at level 1 to The Cinder Crown at level 70. Below is the complete list in progression order, with each boss's in-game name, the exact map it spawns on, and its live Steam unlock rate read on 2026-10-01 — which ranges from 91.8% for the Raptor down to 1.1% for the Lord of the Cinder.

The 20 bosses in progression order

Names come from the game's own Slaves localization table, which ships 13 language columns including both Chinese scripts, zones from the MapData prerequisite chain in the 1.0 launch build, and unlock rates from Steam's global achievement API. Every boss sits on exactly one map — no guessing involved. The Deskrawl store page is the reference point for the current build.

How these names were verified

Official source: Deskrawl achievement list on Steam — every one of the 20 official achievement descriptions names its zone in plain English ("Slay the Ogre in the depths of Northhill Crypt."), and those zone names match the game's internal SlaveData.Location field on all 20 rows.

Be careful searching for these fights, because 8 of the 20 achievement titles match the in-game name and 12 do not. The Ogre's is Grave Keeper, the Ancient Oak Treant's is Rotten to the Root, the Frost Dragon's is Thaw the Highlands, the Defiled Wyrm's is Wyrm Purger. The reliable key is the achievement description rather than its title, because all 20 descriptions name the boss in plain text — "Slay the Ancient Oak Treant in Kings Woods South." The full 37-achievement breakdown is on our achievements reference page.

Miniboss on map 4, zone boss on the last map

The 82 MapData instances unpacked from the 1.0 launch build follow one rule without exception: the miniboss is on the fourth map of its zone, the full boss on the last map of its zone. Nine zones run map 1 through map 7, so the boss sits on map 7. Spire Hill Crypt Lower has only three maps, which is why the Ogre is on DungeonL3.

The flag is MapData.IsMiniBoss, set on exactly 10 of the 82 maps. The boss is named in MapData.BossEncounter.Enemies[].EnemyPrefab, and that prefab reference is identical to the entity key in SlaveData — Werewolf on Forest7, VolcanoDemonLord on Volcano7, Ogre on DungeonL3. Twenty out of twenty, no gaps.

Nine of the ten miniboss maps also carry MaxEncounters = 12 against the usual 10. Forest4 is the exception at 10, because Kings Woods is the tutorial zone and starts low: Forest1 has 6, Forest2 has 7, Forest3 has 8, and the rest settles on 10.

Boss maps are gated, miniboss maps are not

The Skull column above is the single most useful thing to know before planning a run. All ten zone-boss maps carry a non-empty MapData.EntryRequirements array; all ten miniboss maps carry an empty one. Each boss map demands one item per difficulty, selected by a WorldDifficultyMask: Skull on Normal, SkullNightmare on Nightmare, SkullInferno on Inferno. Every miniboss is free progress, every full boss is behind a ticket. The full rules are in our Demon Skulls entry guide.

The game's own item text names both tiers. The description on Skull reads: "Required material for the Golden Boss stage. Dropped by Silver Bosses." Silver Boss is the miniboss, Golden Boss is the zone boss — the developer's terminology, and the only place in the shipped data where the two tiers are named at all.

Farm the miniboss first

Clearing map 4 of each zone costs you nothing and gives you boss-tier loot before you commit skulls to map 7. Worth doing on every zone you pass through, not just the one you are stuck on.

Nine boss materials, and the three that open the Mythic Rift

Only nine of the 20 bosses have a signature material in the Items table: Ogre Heart, Elder Oak Bark, Manticore Venom Sac, Tidewrath Pincer, Redrock Shard, Crimson Wyrm Eye, Frostheart Crystal, Cinderlord Horns and Defiled Wyrm Scales. The other eleven bosses — including the Raptor, the Bloodmoon Werewolf and the Bone Reaper — have no material of their own, so do not expect one.

Three of those nine are not just trophies. MythicDungeon.EntryRequirements lists Cinderlord Horns, Defiled Wyrm Scales and Frostheart Crystal as required items, one each, on every difficulty. To enter the Mythic Rift you need drops from three specific bosses across three different endgame zones: Lord of the Cinder, Defiled Wyrm and Frost Dragon.

Every boss is also a catchable Legendary minion

All 20 entities exist in SlaveData with Rarity = Legendary, so each one can be captured with a Rein rather than only fought. Carry weight runs from 25 to 35, and six sit at the 35 cap: Raptor, Dread Sand Manticore, Ancient Shellwarden, Ice Hound, Frost Dragon and Lord of the Cinder.

Fourteen of the 20 come with one active ability; six are passive-only. The Big Treant's is literally SlaveBigTreantHeal, matching the healing complaint players keep posting about that fight on the Steam discussions. The minions and carriage guide covers the capture side.

What the unlock rates actually tell you

These are Steam's global achievement percentages, not a survey of active players, and they move daily. Read them as a progress ruler. The zones and level order page covers the full 1-70 ladder.

Two readings stand out. The miniboss-to-boss gap is widest exactly where the difficulty spike lands: 12.8 percentage points in Spire Hill Crypt, against 1.1 points in The Crimson Vale and Veldak Highlands. Players who reach a zone boss mostly beat it; the losses pile up in the crypt and again in Kings Woods South — the same level-25 wall covered in our Venom Queen and Ancient Oak Treant guide.

Second, the Lord of the Cinder sits at 1.1% while the level-70 achievement sits at 0.5%. More accounts have killed the final boss than reached the cap, which only works if the kill lands slightly below level 70 — consistent with Volcano6 and Volcano7 both listing level-70 enemies.

One more gap worth planning around: "Unlock a Legendary Minion" is at 44.2%, but 86.5% of accounts have killed the Bloodmoon Werewolf. Catching the minion is the harder half of the job.

What the data cannot answer

There is no official or unpacked source for boss health pools, damage values, attack patterns or skill rotations, so treat third-party numbers with suspicion. Enemy.cs ships with stripped method bodies, and the Planned* spawn fields on EnemySpawnEntry carry [NonSerialized], meaning the runtime budget never reaches the assets. Drop rates exist only as five encounter tiers in LootConfig — normal, elite, miniboss, boss, mythic boss — with no per-boss breakdown, and respawn rules are not in the data at all.

The drop rates page shows what those five tiers do contain. Difficulty tiering is covered on difficulties and Inferno, which is also where the Nightmare and Inferno skull requirements come from.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are there more than 20 bosses in Deskrawl? No. 20 in the achievement and SlaveData data, plus boss encounters in the three Dreamy hidden zones and the Mythic Rift that carry no achievement.

Which boss should I fight first? The Raptor on Forest4. It has no skull requirement, it is the highest unlock rate in the game at 91.8%, and it is a catchable Legendary with the maximum 35 carry weight.

Is the miniboss worth killing if I cannot kill the boss? As raw value per encounter, no — the boss tier is strictly better. In LootConfig the boss setting rolls for loot three times against the miniboss's two, pays a 5x gold multiplier against 4x, and has no NoDrop floor at all while the miniboss floor sits at 10.6. What the miniboss map buys you is access: it has no skull requirement, so it is the only boss-tier loot in a zone you can farm without spending a ticket.

Why is my unlock rate different from this table? Because these numbers move. They were read on 2026-10-01 from Steam's global achievement API, and every boss rate rose between the 2026-09-30 and 2026-10-01 readings.

Do bosses drop Divine gear? Rarely, and no more often than a miniboss. LootConfig gives both tiers the same DivineChance of 0.00001 — 3.3 times the elite tier's 0.000003, half the mythic boss tier's 0.00002. Divine also needs Inferno difficulty to appear at all, per our item rarity page.
